Tellabration!™ The Night of Storytelling was created in 1987 by J.G. "Paw-Paw" Pinkerton.  The Connecticut Storytelling Center launched the evening of benefit storytelling performances in 1988 in six towns across the state.  In 1990, the event came under the umbrella of National Storytelling Network, and a year later Tellabration!™ boasted an audience of 12,000 listeners with sites in 74 communities in 27 states.

In more recent years, communities across six continents have participated in Tellabration!™, with stories being told to audiences in 44 states and 14 foreign countries including: Japan, Bermuda, Canada, Western Australia, Thailand, Scotland, New Zealand, Brazil, and France.

Tellabration!™ promotes storytelling in local communities, showcases local tellers, and builds appreciation for the art form.  Tellabration!™ is an exciting way to spread the word about storytelling so that people, especially adults, will experience its joys, become more aware of its importance, and choose to support it.
